For 2024, the well-deserved title of Redpear Star Employee of the Year goes to none other than Robert Robert Dieu Donne Tawiah, our outstanding Projects Coordinator and QA Lead. His journey is one of resilience, growth, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

A Transformational Journey

Robert’s journey at Redpear began in an unexpected way. Coming from a media background, stepping into the tech industry was both exciting and intimidating. He started as a management trainee, eager to prove himself. His attention to detail quickly set him apart, leading to his promotion as Head of Quality Assurance (QA). Despite not having a technical background, Robert embraced the challenge, learning on the job and taking additional courses to strengthen his expertise. His transition from anxiety to confidence is a testament to his relentless determination.

When asked what inspired him to pursue his role, Robert’s answer was simple: “The best part of my job is knowing that my work directly impacts customer satisfaction. Seeing a product perform seamlessly and hearing positive feedback from clients makes all the effort worth it." His work ethic is built on a philosophy of continuous improvement, always striving to be better than before.

What Keeps Him Going?

For Robert, the most rewarding part of his job is customer satisfaction. Knowing that clients are pleased with a product that runs seamlessly fuels his passion. He finds joy in seeing a project come to life and in witnessing the trust his team and customers place in his work. That trust is what motivates him to perform at the highest level every day.

A Strong Support System

No journey is walked alone, and for Robert, Head of Projects and Infrastructure, Paul Agumba has been his greatest support at Redpear. From his earliest days of uncertainty to his current role, Paul has been a mentor, guide, and friend. His advice, encouragement, and unwavering belief in Robert’s abilities played a crucial role in his growth. Robert acknowledges: "Paul has been a mentor in every sense of the word. He saw potential in me before I saw it in myself, and that made all the difference."

The Meaning Behind the Award

Winning Redpear’s Star Employee of the Year was not something Robert actively sought but it was a byproduct of his dedication and hard work. He believes the award affirms his ability to excel in any environment. It serves as proof that work ethic and perseverance can overcome any challenge, even when stepping into unfamiliar territory.

"This award is more than just recognition; it’s a reminder that growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone and give your best effort." Robert states.

Proud Moments and Key Achievements

Reflecting on the past year, Robert finds the most pride in successfully delivering projects and ensuring smooth releases. The weight of responsibility he carries as the final checkpoint before deployment is immense, and the trust placed in him by leadership and clients alike is something he values deeply. Each project he has worked on represents a milestone in his journey.

Advice for Aspiring Employees

Robert’s advice to fellow employees is simple but powerful: Always strive to deliver your best.

Success isn’t about overworking oneself but about setting high standards and continuously improving. The key is to always be better than your previous work. This mindset has guided Robert throughout his career, and it’s a lesson he encourages everyone to embrace.

He advises: "Push yourself to learn and adapt. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Be open to feedback, and most importantly, never settle for mediocrity."

Robert says he's not just a top performer, but also a self-proclaimed global icon! He humorously insists that he is rich and famous, even if his colleagues don’t believe him. But in his own words, "It’s only a matter of time until they see it. They’ll be shocked!"
